A night of fun and a little decadence
THIS PARTY IS NO LONGER HAPPENING AT CASA LA FEMME!
Its a Thursday. I’m trying to get off the couch because its already been a long week. Then the incentive to get motivated comes in the form of a text message. It’s Jessica White, Sport Illustrated models always get me motivated. She’s in town bored and wants to hangout. My response? I’m in!!! She’s staying at the Standard Hotel. I go to pick her up because I haven’t been there yet and I’m curious. The hotel lobby is small and there is a cute little bar that services the lobby. I’m sure there’s more to come. Mean while Ms. White has me waiting 20 minutes. Jeez… I love it! There’s a pre-opening for a new club Griffin (the old PM space). The room has been redesigned by Steve Lewis with sound proofing so that the new business isn’t plagued with complaints from it’s residential neighbors. The changes are wonderful but the space is basically the same. That said it is a dramatic improvement from its previous life. An elaborate chandelier is focal point and main feature. Its a good crowd but the air conditioning is inadequate and we’re sweating. Not so good. The back up plan is to head across the street to Bijoux. There’s a birthday party for one of the owners so I know it’ll be fun. We head over for what turns out to be a model packed party with DJ Sinatra doing his thing on the turn tables. Its an early night my guest has an early day with MTV so we call it a night around 2 a.m.
I recently had the pleasure of attending the Derek Lam store opening with Zuzana Gregorova, Giedre Dukauskaite, Edita Vilkeviciute (pictures below) definitely the part of the new batch of the new faces of fashion. We were accompanied by a handler. Model handlers take the girls to events that relate to their industry keeping them in front of the fashion world’s eye’s and lenses. The store is gorgeous as was the crowd.
I brought my Flip Ultra HD video Camera for fun. I love this thing small and easy to use. The girls and everyone one else light up as soon as they realize this pint size instrument is a video camera and they are stars in my video masterpiece. The nights young and I suggest dinner. Derek Lam Store 10-12 Crosby Street NYC
There so much going on in New York its hard to remember the staples that make the city wonderful. I recently re-discovered a Blue Ribbon restaurant 97 Sullivan Street (bet. Spring and Prince streets). Its eclectic menu of comfort food, fried chicken and mash potatoes, Rack of Lamb to Matzoh Ball Soup (who knew) mixes well with its raw bar and beef marrow Oxtail Marmalade and Raviloli plates are are mouth watering staples. Trust me!!! Owners, Bruce & Eric Bromberg still have arguably the best late night dinning experience. While we’re dining Ronnie Madra of 1Oak strolls over to the table to join us and shortly thereafter super DJ Eric Morillo. As gorgeous as I am I know its the girls that have drawn them over. Their table is ready after a few minutes of chatting. We’re leaving and stop by to say our farewells. Ronnie Seikly, former basketball player turned house music DJ, has joined them. He’s in town to play at Pink Elephant and he makes the you have to stop and introduce face. I’m showing off so of course I oblige. Blue Ribbon Open until 4 a.m. 212.274.0404 .
I really like Katie Perry. She’s amazingly normal and cool. She came to GreenHouse after one of her shows and MC’d for a good 10 minutes. She hung out with the crowd and made the night fun. So when her manager Chris said People Magazine was hosting a party for her at Mr. West of course I was going and I dragged my guests with me. Katie didn’t disappoint. She immediately waves me over and in classic Katie Perry form asks “So, do you think I’m cross eyed?” as she’s posing for a picture. I simply say “ah, no darling. I think you’re beautiful.” Its pouring rain outside and the place is packed but its time to head to GreenHouse and continue the fun. I Love My Life!
Asher Roth is a great new artist that reminds me of Eminem when he first hit- they also look alike. He’s my pick of the week for new artist. But the song I cant get enough of is Black Eyed Peas Boom Boom Pow

Politics- The Republican Challenge
I watched the Sunday talk shows, CNN, NBC, ABC…, the commentary revolved around the President’s speech on Swine Flu. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) predicts that by the president making a public statement about Swine Flu ,saying that Americans should be mindful to simply wash your hands, has reduced the potential outbreak from tens of thousands to a few thousand.
The commentary wasn’t to praise the President. It was about the response from the Republican Party surrogates, specifically Rush Limbaugh and Glen Beck. These two geniuses took issue with the best advice anyone could
give. They took issue with the President doing his part to be a leader, our leader, and help calm fears and give the single best advice as recommended by the CDC. They took issue with President Obama telling Americans what to do. They found it to be a breach of their civil liberties. What has happened to the Republican Party? They used to be the Party of Lincoln and Eisenhower ? That’s the last time we saw the true Republican Party. Heck even Reagan understood the Party’s core principle of fiscal responsibility. He raised taxes and stayed away the religious zealots in his party.
I used to look at at the fiscal conservative principles of the Republicans as being the cornerstone to America’s future. It was the counter balance to the Democratic Party’s over emphasis on entitlements. Those principles helped balance taking care of the American people while ensuring fiscal responsibility. Once they agreed to raid the entitlement funds like Social Security and the government pension fund, abandoning a pay as you go legislation, gutting the EPA’s oversight and enforcement, the environment, and deregulating of the finance industry leading to our current crisis in both areas, we lost that balance of ideology that makes America America.
I recently asked someone, a young person, why they a republican and the basic answer was that her parents were and so… Its unhealthy and potentially dangerous when we don’t have intelligent debate from the officials elected to serve the public interest. Just common sense without the over introduction of religious zeal, evolution vs. intelligent design, or selling the farm to special interest, something both parties are guilty of, so that we can focus on the challenges ahead of us. The Republican Party is facing a take over, if it has not already happened, by fanatics and extremists. Part of the problem s is that not all republicans believe in these principles but the extremists are the only voice. They aren’t being challenged. With no alternatives the faithful will follow blindly. Hell even Joe the plumber bailed out of the Party.
Its a new world and America needs a new approach. I hope the Republican Party meets the challenges we all face with the practical sense that it once represented. Democrats need their perspective and America deserves better than just disagreeing with the President. I hope the silent majority within the Republican Party steps up to the challenge. The cost of doing nothing may be too great for the country or the world to endure. Yes, things are that dire.
Movies Star Trek!
Spock, you dirty dog. Yes, Its that entertaining.
Okay. It’s true. Greenhouse, my latest haunt in Soho, opened with a lot of fanfare but was probably opened a little late in the season missing out on Diddy’s Election Day/ Birthday Party and not nearly enough time to really get our grove before the holidays. But let me say Greenhouse is now “the” NYC Hot Spot.
It hasn’t been easy. I wont get into the various inner sanctum minutia that drives me, and most that have integrity in this business, crazy but I have other club owners call with threats about competing on “their” nights and “stealing promoters”. Crap like that from people with egos that are bigger than they should be. A sizable ego is a must for success in any industry but please… the bullshit from some in this business, as if any of us are the originators of the industry, is just showing your hand and highlights insecurities that wouldn’t otherwise be obvious. Well, not that obvious.
I have to go back and thank a few people. I celebrated my birthday in December and unfortunately i was remiss in blogging. Thank you to my friends that hosted and attended my Birthday. Bridget Hall, Amy Wesson, Andre Harrell, Damon Dash, Alec Wek, Alex Von Furstenburg, Angela Lindvall, Doutzen Kroes, Egle Tvirbuaite, Josie Morans, O’Neal McKnight, Elise Crombez, Giedre Dukauskaite, Leonardo DiCaprio, a special thank you to Petery Tuney for the specialty art work gift and Jim Jones for performing and making it crazy and Alex Smith for sharing the day with me by celebrating his birthday the same evening. We are both born on December 16th.
This past week I was partying with Gerry Butler, Katie Perry, Estelle, and where Jay Z, Nas, Rick Ross, Timberland, Akon and LA Reid celebrated a friends birthday…
Night Life Guru cum interior designer, Steven Lewis, was host and honoree of BlackBook Magazine on Wednesday. kickass party culminating with a performance by Kid Cudi- insanely fun night!
Jim Jones- Hip Hop Monologues/Off Broadway Play/Musical
I was invited to the season opening of Jim Jones’ Hip Hop Monologues. Wow! This guy has got the goods. The production is a musical based on the time-line to his success with a message of hope with an eye to the struggles of achieving success with the obstacles inherent in growing up Black and impoverished. Don’t get me wrong. This play/musical is fun and funny and has a message of success not just hope. It was thoughtful and well produced. No, its no Miss Saigon but it is a triumph in what is obviously a personal journey in this talented young man’s life with with scenes and images that are relevant to anyone and everyone.
This movie is flat out good. Its not Iron Man but it has a great story line and is well acted. I can’t wait for the future development of this story line if this is the direction its going. Marvel is finally getting it a right…
Barack Obama– Its Just Leadership
-The man with his “Football” is as cool as the other side of the willow.
Americans are like drug addicts detoxing the hard way. Going cold turkey from drugs. We have been so programmed by the Bush administration’s politics and approach, scare tactics, lies, abuse of power, and the overall approach to dumbing down of america that we are confused by the intelligent, thoughtful, educational, charasmatic approach of President Obama and his administration.
How long will it take before we reeducate ourselves to be think before we speak. Listen so that we can formulate an appropriate response and review all of our options so that we have the best response. The example of leadership and problem solving President Obama has displayed in his first two months has exemplary. We want a winner but are stuck in the mentality of “consumption, criticism, and living only in the immediate gratification of the now” with a media full of commentator and fewer and fewer journalists.
Our political leaders, Democrat and Republican, had better catch up with where America is and not the failed representation of the past nine years. Lack of will is only part of the problem. Its the lack of leadership that is glaringly appalling! It’s not that Obama is doing anything super human. It’s that someone is finally doing something. It’s what we should expect from the people we elect to represent us.
Jamie Foxx- Blame It
If you haven’t heard it yet I’m putting it up here because it’s the universal answer and it makes me smile.
Week In Review
My apologies for the lack of entries over the last 2 weeks. But, I’m back. The summer has flown bye. I have had plenty of opportunity to go away but the timing has been all wrong. So I’ve roamed the city and headed out to the Hamptons a few times. So what’s been going on? Well a little bit of everything. Where do I start?
Fashion Week is fast approaching and everyone’s starting to come back so we’re opening Upstairs at Cipriani early. The date is this Thursday, August 28th, play throughout the weekend with Karaoke this Sunday and get crazy all of next week. I’ve been going to everyone else’s places but they seem to just be a stop on the way home. I don’t know why but its true. BIASED BUT TRUE…
Anyway, I was with AJ Calloway, current Entertainment Tonight reporter and former BET & Entertainment Tonight host, he said he’s going to run the marathon for Charity. I told him that that would be impressive. Same night I run into Noah Tepperberg and he invited me to LAVO restaurant/bathhouse/nightclub on the September 13th, crew from TAO, will be launching at the Palazzo in Las Vegas. Happy Birthday to Suzie Sugerman Code Model Management and Kara Searle. That’s the gossip.
The USA Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams won the gold medal and I couldn’t be prouder or happier. The Olympics is such a fantastic time and it evokes such a range of emotions. I felt the anxiety before each race or dive or exercise. Women’s Beach Volleyball and Volleyball, in case you missed it, was a thriller!!! And the with all of these wins I threw my hands in the air as if I’d won. Michael Phelps, aka Superman, and his spectacular super human feats under the spot lights of the world stage and repeatedly stunned the world with not only victories but new world records. The men’s and women’s gymnastic teams, both struggled, but incredible individual performances. The Olympics was the best reality show ever. It had drama, humor, displayed talent and got personal with the athletes.
The joy and the heartbreak of the USA track team was pure prime time. The USA needs to revisit and rededicate itself to perfection if not competitiveness. It was a showing but not the one of dominance that we are used to. I was in shock. But I couldn’t be more impressed with the Jamaican team. With grace and ease they coasted to victory in the 100 and 200 meter sprints and all I could say, mouth agape, was wow!!! And that pretty much sums up the Beijing Summer Olympics: WOW!!!
I fully focused on Fashion Week, both here and in Paris, but Halloween is coming… Last year was great! This year will be amazing! I’m only in town now because I’m working on Halloween. If you were at Cipriani 42nd Street last year for Halloween you know I don’t have to tell you. But I can say be prepared for even better. You’ve been warned.
Fashion Week is coming. That means everyone will be looking their best and some their weirdest. The girls are already starting to stream back into town. Happy days!!! It seems like there is a whole new batch of women who are poised to take the lead as the new faces of Fashion lets hope it will be interesting. I only hope that this coming Fashion Week is more exciting then last season. I’m geared up to see NYC alive with the energy that the shows bring. Liza Golden
The announcements of the Vice Presidential candidates is coming this week and early next week. I’ve decided on who I’m voting for and I don’t think I need anymore media input to decide. It is more of a presidential ticket these days. It was all about the commander and chief. He called the shots and had a supporting cast. Today, with the help of a weak President and a strong Vice President, I think it is more of a partnership. There are real duties and responsibilities for the VP and rightly so. There are a lot a difficulties that we face and, as it is with raising children, “it takes a village”. Meaning it takes everyone, a team, to succeed.
I wont get into how much the election has turned to the dark-side from one candidate. I will get more into it as the date comes closer. Lets see what the Conventions, the Democratic and soon after the Republican, hold for us and reserve judgements. Hello and welcome Joe Biden.
Michelle Obama gave a moving speech in her address to the Democratic Convention. I mean she had attendees in tears and me close to it. It was an uplifting speech that was probably a little to close to home for some. She spoke about the reality of everything about us in America not just the 2 coasts and the unreality and fantasy that we sometimes immerse ourselves in.
The truth is we need to really take stock of ourselves as a country. I don’t want to get corny or cheesy or preachy but things are going to be tough and I want a pragmatist and a realist to tell us things are going to get better and show me a plan to get to better days. We can’t take more of business as usual. The whole world can’t. Every country is waking up to the new realities of the world we have to as well.
Investment in infrastructure of our country, a new energy policy, focus on how to be more competitive as a nation in industries that help Americans, investment in innovation and more than a look at preventive health-care and get some kind of oversight into critical industries so we prevent the crisis like we currently going through in banking and finance, housing, energy and health care. Don’t even let me get into our social crisis…
I live a fantasy and I enjoy it. I work hard and as I grow older I am increasingly concerned about the state of our union and our position and image in the world. I actually expect my government to care and handle these things and actually work for me. Who would have thought government, the deficit and energy prices would all grow exponentially under the Republican’s watch?
Cipriani Upstairs will close for its usual August revamp and renovation. August is definitely time to head out of dodge. “Anywhere but here” is the expression that comes to mind. I meant to go to Capri on the 19th and then boat down to Sicily. But honestly my plans are so late into the month that I don’t have the desire to go. Things start up again in New York in late August and Fashion Week in the beginning of September.
Cipriani Karaoke this Sunday is going to be crazy. Its usually good early and great late. But this past Thursday was a treat with a posse of models that came my associate “Slim”. Sports Illistrated’s model Pania Rose was the headliner on a night where beautiful, sexy and fun were the prerequisites. The rest of the line up included sexy South African Charlbi Dean, the hot and constantly dancing russian Elena Maximova, the show stopping Fabienne Vanderhaeghen, and the american bombshell Ashley Brock.
The only thing that threatened to ruin the fun was some loser who made up a story about being a photographer and kept trying to get Charlbi’s telephone numbers. He couldn’t be cool and just chat… No he had to be aggressive and start trouble. So I had him thrown out. No one so much as batted an eye lash and the party continued. Click Here For Pania Rose SI Shoot
I have to mention a friend that I haven’t seen since she split up with her ex-boyfriend. Kara Searle, a very cute aussie, popped her sexy little head up out of the sand and it was a pleasure agruing with her again.
It was Scott Lipps’ birthdy last night. He had a get together at a friends loft and roof deck. I had to skip it my ex, Ford model Sabrina Huls, was heading out for a night on the town starting there and its best to let her have fun considering I’m out every night as it is. But the buzz around town was all about his birthday party.
Scott owns 1 Model Management and has a rock band, Mars (Michael H, Scott Lipps, Rob Hoffman and Tommy USA) and is pretty much an all around good guy with a good amount of depth in his character- no I’m not gay… not that there’s anything wrong with it… I’m sure it was great fun considering everyone was going. Gerry Butler is in town. You know lead actor in 300, P.S. I Love You and also lead actor in Guy Ritche’s new film RocknRolla. How do I know? Well, I’m headed home after a great night out. As I’m getting into the car two girlfriends Betina and Patrice stop me and we gab. They Have that look. Yeah that look too many drinks and ready to play. So I suggest a plan and after two seductive smooches they say they are “going that way,” whatever that means. I never give up so I hop in the car to grab them and catch up to them on the next corner lean out the window like so High School pup and ask them where there going.
I noticed two guys with bags just looking normal then I realize one of them is Gerry. Gerry and I met a couple years ago at Bungalow 8 with Amy Sacco and I said I heard he was up for the new James Bond role. We hit it off and I hadn’t seen him until mutual friend Joe Dowdel brought him up to Cipriani Upstairs one night. Joe is a personal trainer with his own gym, Peek Performance, and two books out- also a former model. Any, we hit it off that night and have remained friends since.
Anyway, after he and I hug and talk a little macho crap I give in, as if I had a choice, and they’re all off together. I’m sure to grab a bite and call it a night. Without me. Bastards!!!
Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read Fresh Brewed and review the web-site http://www.gtimc.com. Your comments have been helpful and the response tremendous.
The new hot track in music, a couple weeks old actually, and mst definitely fun is Katy Perry’s I kissed a girl. I just love the lyrics. I think they could and do apply to everyone (the “I hope my boyfriend don’t mind it” lyrics are interchangeable with girlfriend).
I went out East this past weekend. I went through the process of getting a car from Hertz, with GPS of course -they call it never lost, headed out east early early Saturday morning. I stayed in East Hampton on the North Shore where its easy to get lost and drive in circles. The occasion, because I need one these days, was a friend’s Birthday party and yes she’s hot!
Saturday was gorgeous. The perfect weather, sunny and cool. Laid out by the pool and soaked up some rays waiting for a car load of mannequins to arrive. Got the Pool and Jacuzzi ready and headed to the store to stock up on libations and nibbles. This should be called pool time. Its like the coffee room at the office where people gather and mingle in a semi work atmosphere except your having a cocktail and wearing next to nothing.
Next, its off to Montauk for the beach. Boy has Montauk changed. Its no longer the ghost town with east coast beach bums. It has even more of a beach town feel and less of the “hey I’m check out my Ferrari” attitude. We hit the beach mid day, 4 p.m., spread out a blanket and I passed out to the sounds of the live band performing at the nearby restaurant, kids laughter and the waves crashing. It was heaven.
So my buddy Jaf Glazer has arranged the birthday dinner is at 9:30 at the Surf Lodge. Surf Lodge is new venture from the Cain, NYC 27th Street, team in Montauk. Of course everyone is late and the table is gone. Its OK though. The Surf Lodge is a comfy beach restaurant/bar. It has indoor and outdoor seating for food and drinks. The crowd is a pleasant mix of thirty somethings, and maybe just a bit younger, movers and shakers. Everyone you’d be mostly happy to see or wouldn’t mind running into. The restaurant seats 80, forty indoors and forty outside. The menu is a perfect mix of seafood and beach grub balanced with a terrific selection of salads and starters. It’s about 10:30 and the chef, Sam Talbot, a tall slinder man, with dark hair and tattoos in his late twenties is greeting patrons and taking in compliments.
I’m seating with Kenny Goldie, one of the investors and a good friend of Jaf. He is gracious enough to order a selection of appetizers and everyone orders separate entrees. I was pleasantly blown away by the flavors of the dishes and the speed at which everything came out. I tried everything… The dishes have a cajun spice and are prepared in a southern style. I had the lobster club as an entree. This thing is big enough to feed two and I’m not sharing. If it were a movie I would give it two thumbs up. Its moderately priced and vibe is a welcome change of pass from more traditional restaurants. And by the way the bartenders pour to get you drunk so make sure someone is designated driver.
Sunday can best be described as wet. It was sunny until just before 1 p.m. and then the skies opened up with thunder, lightening and rain rain rain… It was surreal. Spent the day in bed with trips back and forth to the kitchen with stops in the living room for a quick chat with anyone hanging out.
Headed back to NYC to grab a microphone and sing for Karaoke. Cipriani has the absolute best karaoke night on Sundays (biased but true). I am an admitted karaoke whore. That just means i can and will sing humility be damned. Anyway, I’ve been practicing my James Blunt Beautiful for two weeks and finally I’m ready to give it a shot.
The room has the usual bevy of beautiful models and fills quickly with more then the actor Denis Haysbert (David Palmer, 24) roles in followed shortly thereafter by none other than James Blunt and crew. Great! The night starts off tight but quickly becomes a party and I’m singing Superstar by Lupe.
Time goes by James Blunt is sitting next to me with my boy James from The BOX, the British grouping together, and I say, “listen I’ve been practicing Beautiful all week” he cuts me off and say go for it. A couple songs later the lyrics go up and the entire place rushes to the back to see and listen to him sing. They aren’t disappointed by the tunes they just can’t figure out why it sounds so good but James isn’t singing. That’s right folks I’m that good… Ask Mickey Rourke he was cheering me on. Actress/Model/DJ Eve Salvail is back in town. She is a rock star! The woman can sing. She belted out a couple of hits including her favorite What’s Going On by 4 Non Blondes. The place rocked! Fun, drinks and pasta was had by all.
Working- Things To Come/Hurry Up & Wait
I’m working on Cipriani Halloween at 42nd Street for the last two months and it is a slow grind during the summer. Its a big hurry up and wait scenario. Its the summer and everything takes longer. I’m waiting on the deck so I can begin to put together the right relationships. Mean while I’m waiting or the Westminster Hotel in Paris to get back to about taking over Duke’s Bar, their very small but beautiful bar during Fall fashion week.
Its always a rush to get things ready to get things ready. Ultimately, you’re always waiting on something or someone before you can move the mountains that make things amazing. Sorry, just personally venting some frustration over waiting…
Eniko Mihalki is a Hungarian model with Marilyn Model Management. I saw her at Lilipond on Saturday night. She’s full of personality. She’s got a great smirk for a smile and is super tall and graceful. Basically, she’s a keeper if you’re lucky enough to even be considered. We set up a lunch date at Cipriani Downtown and she may join me for dinner at Megu later that night. I wanna catch up on some dirt with her and her ex-man. It’s also a good time to discuss maybe host an event in Paris with a few other up an coming models. either way she’s one to watch.
Summer is wonderful! Not the season but that’s not bad either. Summer Raehm is the name of my personal trainer. She comes to the house, by appointment, and gives me a stretch so my muscles can breath again. I had a pretty bad case of tendinitis in my shoulders and was given a prescription for physical therapy. Summer put together a short series of stretches that have given me back my flexability and range of motion. She also happens to be a southern bell with steel blue eyes and perfect shape. I recommend her for everyone who really has long stressful days and needs the extra attention. Be ready though stretching can hurt and she takes her craft very seriously.

The Jean Shop
Well I have a favorite belt, yes I’m blogging about a belt, I’ve had this belt since college and trust me that was many many years ago. Anyway, The belt is worn in just right. Its a dark brown heavy leather belt which has been worn to a point where the belt now looks light brown and weathered. Its just beautiful and perfect. The problem is its torn in the back and now my lovely belt needs a replacement.
I was at the Apple store 14th street and walk the block for a cab and passed by the Jean Shop. This place is amazing. Jeans and jackets hang on the wall in all shades in leather and denim, belts and shoes in display everywhere. They offer any style, color, wash, whatever you like in jeans.
Side Note: I have a guitar from the Cipriani Concert Series that has been signed 50 Cent, Snoop Dog, Aretha Franklin, George Michael’s, Annie Lennox, Rhianna, Akon, and the Pussy Cat Dolls. It was given to me for my help in soliciting Gibson as a sponsor.
I have the guitar in its case and really can’t appreciate it. So what do I see as I’m browsing is a leather strap the holding a guitar by its tuning dials over a hook cool as hell (you might be able to see it in the picture). I ask how much it is and the sales person tells me to ask Eric. I have no clue who Eric is so I ask this guy who comes walking over.
“Eric,” I say the the sales guy like I’ve known him for years. “No. Not Eric,” he says. Then a large framed curly haired guy (actually, I went back today its straight black but looks curly) with a a disarming smile wearing an orange shirt comes through the room. I try it again again “Eric!!!” This time I’m good.
Eric is the owner of this little denim oasis. He is about as gentle and easy going as a person can be. Soft spoken and just easy like a beer buddy. He’s not even trying to sell me anything. The place is full of every I ever wanted as jeans. I asked him about the strap and he says “yeah, we don’t sell them.” I’m ask if I can buy the one on display and he just gives it to me. He takes a measure to make another one and brings me the strap.
What I haven’t said is that we were chatting like friends from school and all along he was looking for a belt that he could distress to look like the belt I was wearing. he pulls out a gorgeous belt and tells me to pick it up tomorrow.
This place isn’t for those who don’t have financial flexibility. The belt set me back $160.00 but its being made as a one of a kind just for me. Just the way I want it.
Jean Shop is located on : 435 West 14th St New York, NY 10014
I haven’t been to a Broadway play in years. The last one was Miss Saigon, which was amazing by the way. It just seems so touristy and when do you go and who do you take? Hell, who wants to go? Concerts are almost always more fun.
Last night I was treated to Boeing Boeing by a friend. I am so not interested in going. The play starts out with a lot of physical comedy and I have never been fond of this particular type of humor. Boeing Boeing stars Christine Baranski, Mark Rylance, Bradley Whitford, Gina Gershon and Mary McCormack. The play took off, no pun intended, like a jet and was entertaining and brilliantly acted. One man, three women, a friend and a maid and its exactly what you’re thinking but it works and works well.
Its a great way to break up the everyday routine of restaurants, bars and clubs.
IMG is probably the worlds best modeling agency. I whenever I’m out and there is a absolutely stunning young lady they are either from Marilyn Models or IMG. Well last night I wasn’t disappointed. After the play I headed down to the member’s club at Cipriani Downtown in Soho and I’m welcomed to the night with actress Tara Reid hitting me in the head with a slice of lime. I love Tara. I’ve know her since she and Carson Daily dated and would come hangout at Halo a restaurant/bar/lounge I owned in the West Village She is playful, will chat, sing and dance and is just a lot of fun.
During a break in the action and through the bevy of pretty people two very interesting young ladies stand out. They are hanging out with on of my associates Matt Wilkins. You know how some people just grab your attention and hold it well these to fit that mold. They aren’t dolled up but have the cool semi rocker semi model look going on.
Of course yours truly has met one of them before a polish beauty, Stazia Niementowska, an unassuming very confident slender mannequin with a interesting look that draws you in. She is with her friend Mak, short for Makenzie. What can I say about Mac? A sexy little Texan with a I’m the boss and a attitude. She gives me a feeling that she’s ready to let lose but don’t touch- she may explode in Texas style bar fight. A short conversation with both make the night.
– The following are excerpts from Charles Warden. Charles is my assistant and a very talented young man. And no he doesn’t deserve a raise. He needs to finish his assigned tasks.
I stumbled upon this video yesterday by Gnarls Barkley and thought it was absolutely amazing and had to share it with everyone immediately! Anyone who has ever been in love can relate to this I’m sure of it, when I first heard this song I immediately fell in love with it. You can almost hear the pain and dejectedness in Cee-lo’s voice.
I managed to catch the Takashi Murakami art exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum before it closed a couple weeks ago. The detail in his sculptures in particular were great I couldn’t imagine how long it would take him to actually complete one. Murakami large works of art are incredibly vibrant, he manages to include what seems like every color on the spectrum into each piece of work. Luckily I managed to capture a couple photo’s all the while being harassed by security.
FYI, Murakami is responsible for arguably the most popular Louis Vuitton bag in history (Multi Color LV on white) as well as Kanye West latest album cover. Also in 2008, Murakami made Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People list, and was the only visual artist to do so.
We’ll keep blogging until the world gets it right!
